How much advance notice do you need in order to book a wedding?
To ensure you have spacious time for preparation, the sooner you finalize your wedding date, the better. Most wedding dates can be accommodated, as other ministcers can be made available. If you desire to be married on a holiday, please give a six-month advance notice, as these dates are in high demand. If you desire an all-inclusive formal ceremony, we suggest booking at least six months in advance, although your less advance booking is possible. Your date and time are reserved upon receipt of your nonrefundable $100 deposit.
What locations do you perform weddings? Is it necessary the ceremony be held in a Church?
The selection of a location for your wedding is the couple’s choice. Rev. Charllotte is comfortable officiating at a variety of places of worship. Alternatively, there are many beautiful indoor venues, such as B&Bs, hotels, clubs and at a home as well as a variety of lovely outdoor locations.
Can I write my own wedding vows? Can we include personalized touches in our ceremony?
Yes, your creativity is encouraged! Your involvement in the personalizing of your vows and ceremony expresses your uniqueness as a couple. Together, with the assistance of my sample ceremonies, we design your Beautiful Wedding ceremony.
How long is the ceremony?
A wedding ceremony can range from 15 minutes to 40 minutes, depending on the music and the Wedding Enhancements added. Once your ceremony is created, you will have an excellent idea of the time frame involved.
Will you perform elopement ceremonies?
Yes. An Elopement Ceremony is perfect for the couple who desires a private yet heart-centered wedding. For the small fee of $150, you can have a beautiful, romantic wedding ceremony called "Just the Two of Us" which can be arranged on a very short notice. Please call (719) 237-9534 for your free initial consultation.
Will you perform domestic partnerships for same-sex couples?
Yes. It has been my privilege to have officiated for domestic partnerships in Colorado, California and New Mexico.
Do you offer pre-marital and couple counseling?
Yes, spiritual counseling is offered but not required. With the excitement and busyness involved in preparing for your wedding, your nerves may become frayed. This could be a good situation to schedule a session with me.
Are witnesses necessary?
In Colorado, no witnesses are required. However, your marriage license provides a space for witnesses to sign, which adds a beautiful, finished touch to your wedding document.
How much does your service cost?
Being respectful of a couple’s budget is important. Ceremonies begin at $150. Click Wedding Ceremonies for details.
For all weddings, the fee includes:
- A preliminary one hour session to get acquainted and to design your unique ceremony
- Selection of the Wedding Ceremony Enhancement(s) click to view
- Fine tuning your ceremony through phone calls and emails
- An emailed copy of your finalized ceremony
- Officiating at your wedding
- Filing of your marriage license
Do you charge mileage fees for traveling to various locations?
Mileage is included in the wedding quote for the greater Colorado Springs area including as far west as Woodland Park. For wedding ceremonies outside this area, a mileage fee is assessed. Your initial free telephone consultation will give you the specific quote for mileage should that apply.
Are there any other additional charges?
If your ceremony is delayed more that 20 minutes, a charge of $15 per fifteen minute increments is applied. It is helpful to make sure your wedding coordinator knows this policy.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Payments are accepted in the form of Cash, Check or major Credit Cards.
What does the minister wear?
You have many choices as to what Rev. Charllotte will wear to conduct your Beautiful Wedding. A variety of looks are available; a white or black ministerial robe, professional attires in different colors, or your choice for your theme wedding (i.e. cowboy western, hiking or skiing ensemble, Hawaii Luau, and any other theme attire within reason).
Will the Minister stay for the reception?
If invited, Rev. Charllotte will join you for a portion of the Reception. She is also willing to do a blessing for the reception meal, if desired.
How do I obtain a copy of my marriage license after you marry us?
Rev. Charllotte will mail the license to the County Clerk within one business day of the ceremony. The Clerk will then certify the document and record the marriage. In Colorado, the certified marriage license will be mailed to you. When you apply for your marriage license, you will receive a form to request your license be mailed to you.
If I want to legally change my last name, what do I do?
Copies of the certified marriage license are needed for changing your name on credit cards, bank accounts, and so forth. For changing your name on your driver's license, take your original marriage license to the DMV. In Colorado, the decision to change your last name may be done at any point in time.
Do you perform other kinds of ceremonies?
Absolutely yes! Honoring major events in your life are a specialty of mine. Some of my favorites are: House Blessings, Naming Ceremonies for babies and children, Renewal of Vows and Milestone Anniversaries. Please click on Other Celebrations to view.
